HomeStretch is a nonprofit regional developer of affordable housing serving the counties of Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, and Leelanau. Its mission: Build Affordable Housing.
Since its incorporation in 1996, HomeStretch has been a leader in building and rehabilitating affordable homes for purchase and lease by low-income families. From its first project, a duplex on Center Road in Peninsula Township, to its innovative Cross-Town and Bay Oaks projects, ground breaking Carlisle and Midtown homes, and current Kensington Park East and Ridgewood developments, HomeStretch has made it possible for many families to fulfill their dream of home ownership
RECOGNITION
The dedication and commitment of HomeStretch to affordable housing has been recognized in the Traverse City Record Eagle with editorial Cheers in July 2001 and May 2003, and with a feature story in the August 2002 Northern Living section. HomeStretch and its homes were also featured in the Summer 2001 Edition of Rural Matters, a publication of the Community Economic Development Corporation of Michigan (CEDAM) and in Housing Matters, a publication of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indiana. HomeStretch has also been recognized for its work in the annual reports of Rotary Charities and the Michigan Housing Trust Fund.
